I am a health researcher, consultant, advocate, and teacher.

With 10+ years in healthcare research, focusing on Austria and Central Europe, and a broad interdisciplinary background, I combine expertise with experience and a multi-perspectival approach.

For me, health research is a means to address the many challenges facing health systems today. It is my method of advocating for greater social justice and equity.

Currently, I live and work in Vienna. I am a PostDoc at the University of Vienna, Department of Social & Cultural Anthropology. I am part of the Health Matters Research Group which focuses on the intersections of medicine, politics, technology, and the environment.

At the moment, my main focus is on the social context of prescription, circulation, and use of benzodiazepines and antibiotics in Austria on a three-year research project called Less is More?. As an affiliate researcher of the Community Health Lab at the Medical University of Vienna, I am part of an interdisciplinary public health team working on social health, healthcare access, and marginalization, especially around homelessness, addiction, sex work, and non-insurance.

I also work as a consultant for NGOs and community organizations, and teach at various universities in Austria and internationally on medical ethics, diversity, and qualitative research methods.

Between the lines...

I am said to have mastered the art of lovingly stirring tiny cups of coffee with equally tiny spoons. I played the piano once but had to stop trying. I published a youth magazine when I started to try to say something and there wasn’t as much at stake yet. I grew up watching TV shows and movies to teach myself better English, and got stuck with a love for narrative and seeing what we can be made to feel. I do yoga.
